Employment Law Section
Crone & Mason's employment law section is made up of lawyers and other
professionals dedicated to a discriminatory free workplace. We accomplish this
goal by representing employers and employees. Our representation of employers
focuses on compliance with the law, so that all employees are treated fairly and
our clients can stay out of court. We also defend employers who have been served
with a lawsuit.
Our lawyers also have extensive experience representing employees. We have
litigated age discrimination claims, Title VII claims, and other discrimination
claims, negotiated severance packages, negotiated employment contracts, represented
labor unions, and prosecuted a nationwide class action lawsuit on behalf of employees
under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
The Chairman of the Employment Law Section is Alan
G. Crone. Mr. Crone is the former Chief Legal Counsel for the Tennessee Department
of Employment Security. He currently is an Assistant Shelby County Attorney representing
Shelby County, Tennessee, in labor and employment cases. Jim Webb is the other attorney member
of the Employment Law Section of Crone & Mason, PLC. Along with Karen Nickelson
and Alison Hutchens, our case managers, the section is devoted to the tireless
representation of our clients.
Miles Mason, a member of the firm, is a former
certified public accountant. He brings his considerable business and accounting
skills to bear on the question of damages in cases involving pension plans, 401(k)
plans, stock options, and other sophisticated benefit packages.
